Abstract: We propose a multiscale optimal control problem for crowd management. The crowd is represented at the macroscopic level via mean-field equations or measure differential equations, while the control is exerted by agents. We show some results in terms of the existence of optimal controls, discuss difficulties, and compare with other approaches. Applications to control vehicular traffic via autonomous vehicles and surveillance of pedestrian crowds with drones will be presented.
